It can be assembled in 30 minutes, the tool is included. It is normal to have extra screw & nut after the assembly is done.

Ottoman:
Not only the chair/loveseat/sofa could easily turn into a chaise with an ottoman in front of it, the ottoman itself is wide and steady for friend visiting.
Side table:
